SMS Terms & Opt-In Policy

1. Program description
Rydway (operated by Ocampo Tours) sends transactional SMS messages from a US Toll-Free phone number to customers who have booked a bus tour. The program is transactional only: we do not send marketing, promotional, or recurring messages. The sole purpose of the program is to deliver booking confirmations, ticket QR-code links, and trip-day reminders for the specific tour the customer purchased.
2. How users opt in
A customer opts in to receive SMS messages from Rydway by completing all of the following steps at our checkout flow on rydwaybus.com:
- Selecting a tour at
/tours/[tour-slug]and starting the booking flow. - Entering their mobile phone number with country code in the “Your Information” step of checkout. The phone field is optional; SMS is only sent if a phone number is provided.
- Explicitly checking a dedicated SMS-consent checkbox that reads, verbatim:
“I consent to receive booking-related SMS messages from Rydway at the number above. Message and data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP to opt out.”
- Completing payment via Stripe. The “Continue” button on checkout is disabled until both the Terms & Privacy checkbox and the SMS-consent checkbox are checked.
We do not collect opt-in via SMS keyword. There is no way to opt in to Rydway SMS by texting a keyword to our number.
3. Message types and frequency
After opt-in, a customer can receive these message types tied to the specific tour they purchased:
- Booking confirmation — one message sent within minutes of a successful payment, containing the booking ID, trip details, assigned seat numbers, and a link to view the QR-code tickets.
- Trip-day reminder — one optional message sent 24 hours before the scheduled departure, confirming pickup time and location.
Frequency:typically 1–3 messages per booking. We do not send recurring messages outside the scope of a customer's active booking.

5. Opt-out
A recipient can opt out of all Rydway SMS messages at any time by replying with any of these keywords to a message we sent them:
STOP · STOPALL · UNSUBSCRIBE · CANCEL · END · QUIT
After we receive an opt-out, the recipient will receive one final confirmation message and no further messages will be sent unless the recipient texts START to re-subscribe. Opt-out is processed automatically by our SMS provider (Twilio Advanced Opt-Out).
Opt-out response (auto-sent):
You have successfully been unsubscribed from RYDWAY. You will not receive any more messages from this number. Reply START to resubscribe.
6. Help
A recipient can request help at any time by replying HELP to any of our messages. The auto-response is:

7. Carriers and cost
Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Message and data rates may apply, depending on the recipient's carrier plan. Rydway does not charge for SMS messages.
8. Privacy
Phone numbers collected at checkout are used solely to deliver the messages described in section 3. We do not sell, rent, or share phone numbers with third parties for marketing purposes. Numbers are stored with the booking record and may be shared only with our SMS provider (Twilio) for the purpose of delivering the messages. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
